5: Talk about a scary experience

Super Bowl Sunday 2011. My entire family was at my grandma’s house for the game and everyone was crowding around the television eating our wings and sandwiches when all of a sudden my grandma became confused and asked questions that we all were sure she knew. She asked questions like “why are we here?” and “who’s birthday is it?” and at that moment we knew something was seriously wrong. So my mom, being the over protective woman that she is, called an ambulance right away. As they came, me and my cousin were downstairs in my uncle’s room trying to keep all my little cousins calm, since they had no idea what was really going on. Then my baby cousin, who was just four years old at the time asked me “Is grandma gonna be okay?”. I instantly broke down into tears and just nodded my head, hugging her and telling her everything will be alright. A couple hours after everyone was asleep, my mom and my aunt came through the door, eyeliner & mascara smeared all over their face. Turns out, my grandma had suffered three strokes. She is now at her home, as healthy as can be. And even though we might all joke around about the incident, there truly is one thing I learned from this, “Life is short, and in one moment it can all be taken away from you.” I love you so much, Grandma.

4: What makes you different from everyone else?

I have a big heart, big enough to fill a room.
